Bollywood actresses and their underworld lovers

Bollywood and underworld has a close connection with each other. Each is influenced by the others X factor. Where the head honchos of underworld fall for the glitzy beauty of Bollywood actresses, they in turn are in awe of the larger than life persona of the Underworld Kingpins. Take a look at these Bollywood actresses and their underworld lovers.

1.HAJI MASTAN - SONA: Mastan Haider Mirza, popularly known as Haji Mastan, Bawa /Sultan Mirza was an Indian mobster and filmmaker. Mastan became the first celebrity gangster of the city of Bombay, expanding his clout in the film industry by giving money to directors and studios for film production. As Mastan’s influence in Bollywood grew, he began to produce films himself. He was among the first don to marry Bollywood actress. Haji was a big fan of Madhubala and fell in love with Sona because of her uncanny resemblance to the late Madubala.

The 2010 film “Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai” was heavily based on Mastan’s life although it was not completely nonfiction. Actor Ajay Devgn portrayed the character of Haji Mastan as Sultan Mirza in the film while Emraan Hashmi portrays underworld don Dawood Ibrahim as Shoaib Khan.

2. ANITA AYUB - DAWOOD IBRAHIM: Anita Ayub is a Pakistani model and actress. She has appeared in Pakistani and Bollywood movies and advertisements. She was very close to Dawood Ibrahim who is the leader of the Indian organised crime syndicate D-Company founded in Mumbai. He is currently on the wanted list of Interpol for cheating, criminal conspiracy and running an organised crime syndicate. Some years ago, producer Javed Siddique was shot dead by Dawood Ibrahim as he refused to take Anita Ayub in a Hindi Film.

3. MANDAKINI - DAWOOD IBRAHIM : Mandakini was rumoured to have been in relationship with Dawood Ibrahim. In 1994, photographs began circulating of Mandakini in the presence of dreaded gangster Dawood Ibrahim. Rumours had already been doing the rounds that the two were having an affair, and the photos only served to fuel them.

4. MUMTA KULKARNI- VIKRAM GOSWAMI: Mamta Kulkarni, who walked the fine line between sleazy and sexy in the 90s, had disappeared from the city more than a decade ago. Mamta Kulkarni initially had connection with Chhota Rajan. Later she married drug smuggler Vikram Goswami. When Vikram Goswami was in jail, Mamta looked after his real estate business in Mumbai. While he was in Jail both converted to Islam and got married in an Islamic marriage ceremony.

5. MONICA BEDI - ABU SALEM: Monica Bedi was close with a gangster Abu Salem. In September 2002, Monica Bedi and Abu Salem were arrested and served jail sentence in Portugal for entering the country on forged documents.
