11) Persis Kambatta
Persis Kambatta acted in Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979). Although a mostly unknown personality, Persis was born in Bombay, was the second winner of Femina Miss India and third Indian woman to participate in the Miss Universe pageant. According to Wikipedia, she was the first Indian citizen to have been part of the Academy Awards in 1980. Thats huge!
12) The Great Khali
Again, not a Bollywood personality but none the less the first Indian to have made a mark by wrestling in the WWE. He was part of the Adam Sandler move The Longest Yard(2005).
13) Om Puri
This fine actor has had the opportunity to work with Tom Hanks in Charlie Wilson’s War(2007), besides acting in several international productions like East is East, he was recently seen in The Hundred Foot Journey.
14) Suraj Sharma
Suraj has had some fantastic roles in Hollywood movies like Life of Pi (2012) & Million Dollar Arm (2014). This young impactful actor, was also part of the highly acclaimed sitcom Homeland (Season 4). Yes, he is yet to do a Bollywood movie.
15) Tabu
Tabu believes in quality cinema, she’s seen in few but meaningful movies like Haider and Talvar. She was also seen along with Suraj Sharma and Irrfan Khan in Life of Pi (2012).
16) Gaurav Chopra
This TV star had a less than blink and a miss role in the Leonardo DiCaprio starrer Blood Diamond (2006). Did anyone notice him?
17) Naseeruddin Shah
Naseeruddin Shah played Captain Nemo in the Sean Connery starrer The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (2003).
18) Tara Desai
Tara Desai is known for her Bollywood movies like Table No. 21. She was part of Hollywood movies like The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (2011) and its sequel starring the likes of Richard Gere and Judie Dench.
19) Kabir Bedi
The only Indian to have ever acted in a James Bond movie! Kabir Bedi was a part of Octopussy (1983) when Roger Moore played 007. Part of the movie was shot in Udaipur as well!
20) Anupam Kher
Anupam Kher was part of the Bradley Cooper & Jennifer Lawrence movie Silver Lining Playbook (2012).
