Not an ‘erotic film’ per se, but this masterpiece by Deepa Mehta was one of the first Indian films to depict homosexuality in mainstream cinema.
2) B.A. Pass
Everyone was shocked to see Shilpa Shukla in a sultry avatar, after watching her in a radically different role in Chak De.
3) Aitraaz
Aitraaz was different from convention because it talked about a woman’s desire, like never before.
4) Murder
Murder was a milestone of a movie. Not only did it give India it’s very first serial kisser: Emraan Hashmi, but it also saw the birth of the sex siren Mallika Sherawat!
5) Dev D
Need we say anything about this cult film? Anurag Kashyap’s modern twist to the classic featured a lot of erotic scenes, laid against the timeless tunes of Amit Trivedi.
6) Jism
Jism gave us Bollywood’s most spoken about and probably the most envied couple: John and Bipasha.
7) The Dirty Picture
Vidya Balan gave this project her everything, right from putting on a lot of kilograms to pushing the boundaries of her acting. The sexy scenes in the movie required a lot of courage, and Vidya provided what Silk Smitha promised: Entertainment, Entertainment and Entertainment!
