According to the director D. J. Caruso, Deepika will be playing a very crucial character in the movie. She will be playing the role of a huntress named Serena who also happens to be Xander Cage’s ex love interest. Isn’t that interesting?

Before leaving for the shoot in Canada, Deepika was training under renowned celebrity fitness trainer, Yasmin Karachiwala. Well, that explains the fantastic physique we’re witnessing in the behind-the-scenes pictures.

Along with Vin Diesel and Deepika, there are many other renowned celebs who will be a part of the movie which includes The Vampire Diaries’ protagonist Nina Dobrev, Samuel L Jackson, Jet Li, Tony Jaa and Ruby Rose. Oscar-nominated actress Toni Collette is also going to be a part of the film. Recent additions to this list are Hermoine Corfield and Chinese actor and singer Kris Wu.

The actress has been working out thrice a day for the toned body we can see in the pictures. A source close to the actress revealed, "Deepika needs to gain muscles for the film. She doesn't need to look bulky but has to be rather lean and powerful. Yasmeen Karachiwala has been training her and she has been sweating it out at the gym three times each day."
