Love hurts. Sometimes you are left heartbroken. Sometimes, the pain transcends to the physical. Here are a few celebrities who were hurt by their partners.
1) Salman – Aishwarya
Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai’s romance was loved by all, and eventually, hated just as much. Aishwarya revealed that, “There were times when Salman got physical with me, luckily without leaving any marks. And I would go to work as if nothing had happened.” A voice-recording of their telephonic conversation was also leaked to the media which proved that Salman was also verbally and mentally abusing her.
2) Preity – Ness
Back in 2014, Preity Zinta shocked everybody by filing a police complaint against her ex-boyfriend and business partner Ness Wadia. She had accused him of molesting and threatening her. This is not the first time Ness has been abusive with Preity. In 2009, Ness had slapped Preity in a party. Kudos to your strength, Preity!
3) Dimple – Rajesh
Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Khanna was a couple who was adored by one and all. But everything wasn’t as happy as it seemed. Rajesh had a bad temper and he was also hooked to the bottle. It is alleged that he often vented his frustration on Dimple after getting drunk. After 11 years of staying married, the duo parted ways without divorcing each other.
4) Karishma – Sanjay
After suddenly ending her engagement with Abhishek Bachchan, Karishma Kapoor got married to Sanjay Kapur in 2003. After a couple years, Karishma filed for a divorce citing physical abuse and debauchery. On the other hand, Sanjay alleged that Karishma had simply married him for his money and on the rebound. Ouch!
5) Salman – Katrina
And Salman did it yet again! It is rumoured that Salman slapped Katrina Kaif back when he was dating her, because he thought that her dress was inappropriate and too revealing. Wait. What? Good you left him, Katrina!
6) Kangana – Aditya
Kangana Ranaut and Aditya Pancholi’s affair was no secret. Everybody, including Aditya’s wife, was aware of their liaison. In an interview, Kangana revealed that “It was a very difficult & very harsh time. I was physically abused. I don’t have to go into the details. I felt trapped.” And keeping recent events in mind, seems like Kangana’s phase of bad exes still hasn’t ended.
7) Sooraj – Jiah
It won’t be wrong to say that this apple hasn’t fallen too far from the tree. And Sooraj Pancholi is one rotten apple. Forget physical abuse. Sooraj Pancholi is accused of driving Jiah Khan to suicide! Whether he is guilty or innocent, is for the courts to decide. We just hope that justice will soon be served to Jiah.
It is saddening to know that domestic abuse is not just restricted to the poor as is depicted in the movies. With every person you force into subjugation, you are lesser of a man. Men and women of today, it is time to set things right. Curb domestic violence!
