10 Shah Rukh Khan Films That Made You Cry!

Chak De! India (2007)

The film, touted as SRK’s one of best films so far, traced his journey as a coach of a national level hockey team and he earns back his lost fame and respect. This scene when he had to leave his home with his mother, after the board blames him of being a traitor, moves you in tears.

Veer Zaara (2004)

The film is one of Bollywood’s best love sagas. The movie, depicting cross-border love, starred Srk, Preity Zinta and Rani Mukerji, in key roles. Narrating SRK and Preity’s love story, tracing how they meet, get separated, and re-unite when they get old, talks about true love that exits. And the climax, when SRK and Preity see each other again after decades really touches your heart!

Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003)

Inspired by Rajesh Khanna’s ‘Anand’, Karan Johar’s love drama, starring SRK, Preity Zinta and Saif Ali Khan, is one of Shah Rukh’s finest movies so far. His character of a bubbly man, who makes everyone smile, suffers from a heart ailment. And in the end, when he dies of a heart attack indeed makes you cry.

Devdas (2002)

Talking about SRK films that made you cry, how can you not talk about the love saga. While most of the movie sees the actor in tears, keeping you in the same state too, but when Shah Rukh dies, in the end, waiting for his Paro (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan) all his life, moves you a lot.

One of SRK’s darkest films ever, the climax of the film, where Madhuri Dixit takes her revenge and kills Shah Rukh Khan, is very high on drama. Of course, you don’t empathize with SRK’s negative character, but the actor and his acting in the end, makes you emotional.

Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Gham  (2001)

The family drama is full of scenes that make you sad and happy. But the one where Shah Rukh Khan reunites with his parents, played by Jaya Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan, after so many years, makes you cry. And when you have actors like these in such a high-octane scene, you can expect such reactions.

Chalte Chalte (2003)

The Shah Rukh-Rani Mukerji starrer rates high on emotions and drama and you can certainly not forget to mention the moving scene (with the song ‘Lai vi na gai’ song adding emotion in the background) when the actors get separated after a relationship that did not work out between them.

My Name Is Khan (2010)

The Karan Johar film saw SRK playing the role of a man who suffers from Asperger's syndrome. The movie, set in the backdrop of 9/11 attacks, talked about the lives of ‘Khans’ in the US after the deadly terrorist strike. And the scene where Kajol blames SRK, who was a ‘Khan’ in the film, for her son’s death, moves you in tears.

Dil Se.. (1998)

The Mani Ratnam’s romantic thriller, set in the backdrop of insurgency in Northeast India, saw Shah Rukh Khan falling in love with a suicide bomber, played by Manisha Koirala. And in the end when he hugs Manisha and kills himself too, as her bomb blows off, makes you cry, seeing the true love.

Anjaam (1994)

One of SRK’s darkest films ever, the climax of the film, where Madhuri Dixit takes her revenge and kills Shah Rukh Khan, is very high on drama. Of course, you don’t empathize with SRK’s negative character, but the actor and his acting in the end, makes you emotional.

Fan (2016)

And here comes the latest addition to the list. The Maneesh Sharma thriller keeps you glued till the end, moving you in tears as well, when Gaurav Channa, the ardent fan of Aryan Khanna, dies at the climax.

Well, that Srk is a superb actor, is an undisputed fact. But, he still has to his credit some films, that although earned big bucks, but made people cry for totally different reasons!

Like ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ was a blockbuster but the movie really made us wonder, how a singer based in the UK joins the Indian army without thinking of his age group or for that matter the way to join the squad! Also, SRK diffusing the bombs without any safety hacks, also raised our eyebrows.

In ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’, we were actually amused to see Anushka Sharma not making out that her dance partner was actually her husband, played by SRK, despite the fact that they both looked almost similar.

And finally, Ra.One, the sci-fi thriller, whose storyline did not go down well with many of his fans. Although the actor invested big bucks in the film, but sadly, the outcome caould not impress many!

And all these SRK films too…made us cry!!
